Our F1 Buckfast queens are grafted from selected F0 Breeder Queens which have to pass vigourous testing before we use them as breeding stock. We graft larvae from the F0 breeder queen frames and use these to raise strong and healthy virgin queens ready to be MATED IN WALES.
 
We flood the Welsh mating apiary with selected F1 drone mothers from exceptional lines to ensure excellent mating and to promote high quality genetics within our Welsh F1 daughters.

These bees are UK bred Buckfast locally mated with selected Welsh drones. They carry all of the same traits as our F1 Buckfast nucs and they are very resiliant to pests/diseases and perform exceptionally well in the UK climate.
